“Garbage in → Garbage out!” is exactly what it sounds like. If you take in garbage, that is also what you are going to put out. I don’t believe we intentionally mean to do this… but stuff happens. We are caught up in the moment, off guard, swept away, or just thinking “it’s OK”. We imagine all the other things that are so much worse, or that in my case… it’s “only hurting myself”.
I have plenty of negative influences in my own life, that I digest, succumb to, and purge, but I maintain… for all the things I am, there is Jesus; and for all the things I’m not, there is Jesus. With that being said… what about you? What do you have to say? What are you allowing in… to you? And equally important… what are you putting out?
If you, like me, are a visual or experiential learner… let me help. I am reminded of a very ‘real for me’ illustration of this. I battled with an eating disorder for 15 years of my ‘not-so-feeling-like-a- life’. I binged and purged on all the wrong things, in all the wrong places. It was not until JESUS happened in my life, that I found ‘life-worth-feeling’… ‘Him worth living’. He was my only cure… and I can prove it. So now when I need the worldly influences, the fleshly desires, “the trash” in my life removed [& this occurs far too often for my taste]… it is Jesus who takes out the garbage. THANK YOU LORD!
Ok now what? What to do… with the emptied space? If garbage in renders garbage out, then I must conclude… Jesus in → Jesus out. If I digest the Word of God, then it is the Word of God I serve. If it is the Lord’s gifts and blessings in, then it is God’s Blessing out. If it is His Light in, it is His Light out. I can go on and on of how He loves us, even us, especially us… but that is for both you [and me] to take in. When you fill the empty spaces [which once contained garbage] with Jesus→ there is no more room… for the trash.
SOW THEN… JESUS IN → JESUS OUT!
