Have you ever really listened to the sound of your own voice, and found it going around and around like the direction of a broken record? Well I can say, that I have… been there, done that, I write the blog… over and over again.
Please let me share up front that even though…
I fall down, have come up short, stepped off the path that leads in the right direction, looked the wrong way or just looked away, went too far or not far enough, said too much or ignored His prompt, took your heart captive or replaced it with a stone…
Jesus still loves me, and I can prove it. God still uses me, and I have proved it.
I write the blog.
I need not repetitiously…
… state my love affair with my Lord on a website,
… post declarations which serve to prompt fear, isolation, and condemnation on social networking sites [“Repost this ___ if you love Jesus and confess Him in your heart.” And then use Scripture to support their claim & request (to me, seemingly, a terrorist attack)… “But whoever denies Me (Jesus) before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:33],
… or, stand in the middle of a congregation or a congregation of people and confess Jesus is my Lord.
…to have Him ‘confess me before The Father who is in heaven.”
This to me is foul ‘play’. Invoking fear and condemnation is not of the Lord [Romans 8:1-2]… for those who love Him, for those who are called according to His GREAT purpose. [Romans 8:28] It is Him who searches the heart and knows the mind of our spirit [Romans 8:27]… I believe this to include the motivations of our mouth and fingers also. HE is God! HE knows everything and covers a multitude of sin!
1 Peter 4…
8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint. 10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
All of this folks… is not about us… It is ALL ABOUT HIM! And I find it totally irresponsible for Christians to proclaim Christ in a negative light. To me… we take His Name, His Words, His Sacrifice in vain… over and over again… when we do this.
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
I never want to bring the attention or the light unto myself… but for the One I come with. The next trumpet that I hear… I want its origin to be from Heaven and the sound not like a clanging symbol in my ear, nor from my own mouth [or fingers].
So as for Facebook reposting, and, and, and…
When in doubt, as you face the mirror… run it by the One you come with first, before posting.
just singing, again… I write the blog.
The Word of Faith Brings Salvation
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. 6 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down), 7 or ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).” 8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”
16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
