It is the first Sunday of the month tomorrow and that means Communion for many of the local churches. Now let me say up-front that I am in no way saying we should have communion every Sunday at church. However, we who call ourselves “Christian” and who most likely are in church every Sunday because we would so love to, should be in Communion with God… this day, every day, and all day long.
What is Communion? “The term communion is derived from Latin communio (sharing in common). The corresponding term in Greek is κοινωνία (koinonia), which is often translated as “fellowship”. In Christianity, the basic meaning of the term communion is an especially close relationship of Christians, as individuals or as a Church, with God and with other Christians.” [Wikipedia]
With all that being said, I myself have no eloquence of speech to speak of… so I just talk to [some people call it prayer] and commune with [anticipating & listening for His response]… GOD! And now I invite you, in Koinonia, to listen…
“THE LORD GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, my God… TODAY let it be known that You are the God of everything for everyday and all day long. Please my God, if it be Your will and Your desire, make it known that I am Your servant and that You love me… I am Yours and You are mine. And that I have done these things and spoke from my heart according to Your will, Your Word, Your heart. Oh my God may I have this honor, that the hearts and minds of Your people may return to You, this day, every day, and all day long…
My God for all people, please let us partake and digest… Your ‘Daily Bread’ [all-inclusive nutrition], Your Body [a very Special Delivery], Your Word [the Gospel Truth], into ours, and may it consume us Lord… this day, every day, and all day long?!
My God of all things, please let us take hold of, grasp, and take in… Your Wine [the best at the right time], Your Blood [which covers a multitude of sin], Your Life [a cup of living water], into ours, and may it pour into and spill out for Yours Lord… this day, every day, and all day long?!
Oh Lord fill us with You. No more of the world’s empty calories, but complete sustenance, provision, & vitality… in You. Oh my God examine us, search our hearts, and whatever wicked way in ‘we’, take it, cut it off, cast it out… do whatever ‘You know’ it takes… do. Better is one day in Your court than a thousand elsewhere. Jesus tell us plainly that we may understand and do this necessary thing and may our response back to You be True Communion, a blessed communication of give & take…
… “for such a time as this” day, every day, and all day long!”
READ, SPEAK, & LOVE OUT LOUD with JESUS…
… this day, every day, and all day long!
From the cross…
‘Are you prepared to drink from the cup I have prepared for you?’ [Jesus]
“Oh my God, I pray it so!”
This morning, having not realized I was asleep until I awoke, saw a woman [later to be known as me] take in a cloud-like stream of mist, coming from above. I watched this from a distance, wondering as to what its significance was to me. The woman was on her knees, with her head looking upward and her mouth opening to receive communion. The mist seemed to have swirls and melody, like a lyrical flow; nothing like a piece of bread or cup of wine, that one would suspect. As she breathed in, what came out was a voice above her saying this… “There is still one thing you haven’t done, Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
I had seen this scripted mist before and heard the charge in Mark 10:21. Most recently, it was last Sunday. As I stood in worship, having just prayed for a spiritual cleansing and that a list of all my crimes against God be made known to me that I may lay them down at the foot of the cross… there appeared to me a bucket. At the foot of the cross was a bucket and with each sin that came forward, I spoke them, and when they left me… they left me. Each one written in a lyrical mist dropped one by one into the bucket. So on that day… I had a BUCKET LIST. And instead of having a list of all the things I wanted to do before I died, I had a list of all the things I am to leave behind me… before I die.
Jesus, if I have & can see Your back, does this mean I am following You?
~ I pray it so… this day, every day, and all day long!
36 At the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Answer me, O LORD, answer me, that this people may know that You, O LORD, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again.” 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God; the LORD, He is God.”

The Lord’s Supper Instituted
26 While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” [Mark 10:21]
