PASSION… the Good One

PASSION…  is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion, compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something.

The term is also often applied to a lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity or love – to a feeling of unusual excitement, enthusiasm or compelling emotion, a positive affinity or love, towards a subject, idea, person, or object. It is particularly used in the context of romance or sexual desire though it generally implies a deeper or more encompassing emotion than that implied by the term lust.

Reason and Passion
‘A sense of self-mastery…has been praised as a virtue since Plato’s day’; but nonetheless it is a fact of everyday life that ‘passions overwhelm reason time and again.”

From my previous posts, I pray you now know… you are NOT ALONE!  And like some of you… I, too, didn’t KNOW LOVE, until I recognized Him.  But for today, I’d like to speak from and for “Passion… the Good One!”  In remembrance of Valentine’s Day that we celebrated yesterday, let us not forget the day that Love truly died & rose again.  And from this day…

From the moment I recognized HIM*… I was all His, totally sold out, emptied & poured out… my heart waiting to be filled with His.  So please forgive me and give me understanding… when you can’t or don’t.  “I’ve gotta KNOW!”  Please allow me this grace to ask…

“What is it that moves & stirs you?  What is it that completes you, empowers you, and gives you strength to love [and forgive… sometimes even the unforgiveable]?  And… Where is it found from your history… your earliest recollection of Him?”

I have finally arrived at the place where I cannot understand how anyone could encounter Jesus, and not KNOW it.  How a so called… “Christian” could be plucked out of the fire and not be consumed by Him?  How one could be caught up or hit by Someone as powerful as Jesus and not be totally captivated by Him.  I get being paralyzed to move or speak, having experienced the sights & sounds of God.  But I will never grasp how someone can look me in the eye and challenge me to consider being satisfied with going through life in status quo, having at least once… ‘viewed’ The Living God & ‘heard’ The Word.

I’m not talking about having specific spiritual or ministry gifts [speaking in God’s language, prophetic word… wisdom, knowledge, etc], or having in one’s possession a certain salvation date, that one WOW moment with God, that some legalistic Christians say must be or no save for you & me [so to that I say… prove it!].  For a long time, the enemy tried to ensnare me with that lie.  But Jesus came to my rescue & personally showed me the Truth…  Our ‘Wow moments with God’ could & should be everyday and all day long.  And if we’re all on the same page with that… in our recognition of Him, wouldn’t that mean He is standing right in front of us?  I pray for that!!!

‘Being confident of this very thing, He who has begun a good work in you [us], will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.’ [Phil. 1:6]  He is not done creating, molding & shaping us, in love, until the day He takes us!  I also stand on this… He doesn’t take us one minute sooner or one minute later then He had planned.  ‘Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of who I am a chief!  And yet for this reason I have found mercy, in that even as chief, Jesus might demonstrate His perfect love and patience especially for me and make it known to you.  And if He can do it for me, He certainly can do it for you!’ [paraphrased from 1 Timothy 1:15]

I have been asked… “What’s wrong with being an un-named disciple of Christ [like in Bible times]?”  To me, it is not the being un-named that disturbs me [I’ve got nothing without Him], but it’s the not having or displaying passion for the Lord… to try like crazy to stand out in a crowd for Him… that drives me crazy.  CRAZY IN LOVE FOR JESUS!  Where… “Open the BLINDS!” has now become a living vision for me.

PASSION the Good One

It is the very strong feeling about [God]. The intense emotion, compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something more [Jesus].

It’s a lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity or love – to a feeling of unusual excitement, enthusiasm or compelling emotion, a positive affinity or love, towards [The Holy Spirit]… a deeper or more encompassing emotion than that implied by [the world]

it is a fact of everyday life that ‘passions overwhelm reason time and again.”

PASSION is above, beyond, & within… HIS reason.

And… THANK GOD I am not The One

The PASSION of the CHRIST… the Good One!

* Oh I saw Him [throughout my life], I just didn’t recognize Him… & who He was to me.

And as of recent, I have seen [scene] my BLINDS open…

14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. [1 Timothy 1:14-16(NKJV)]

Praise the Living God!
