“Don’t make me come in there!”

I know I’ve got nowhere to go for throwing stones… but neither do you!!!

I began this post many days ago and it has seen several revisions.  But for today, the Lord has asked me to give “Grace”.  He moved me back far enough from the situation that I could see & feel… removed.  So from here I ‘lightened up’ enough to join you…

Here’s how it all started…

I recently responded to a Facebook post that aroused an anger in me so much so that I came out of hiding… and felt led to turn over a table located in “the family” dining room.

I am so sick to death of watching and hearing my siblings fighting in the name of our Father that I, myself, could just spit… out:

“If I come in there, you are so going to ‘get it’!”

I was catapult back to a time in my early years with my [first] dysfunctional family.  I was the oldest, and by default, the “responsible child” in a divided household, where addiction and abuse prevailed.   And so at the ripe old age of 10ish, with my hands on my hips, I was forced to march [when necessary], defend & protect with “If I come in there, you are so going to get it.”  Oddly enough, it worked.  The Lord must have made me 10 feet tall for such an occasion… with no sticks & stones to speak of.

As I previously mentioned, I recently came out of hiding.  I had at one point stopped reading the words [blogs & posts] of others because it became so overwhelming & time consuming that it took my time away from reading HIS.  And more so, I felt as though I had to be on-guard every moment, cause you never know who’s going to strike at you with semantics or worse, for not being perfect with every word.  “Oh where oh where has all the GRACE gone?”

The following is the comment I posted to that Facebook blog, in defense of a sibling in Christ…

“I took your link to Google Xxxxx & several links just like yours popped up saying the same thing… in MARCH 2010. I must be honest, I did not read or listen to any of it. I am in a place today that I will ONLY read or digest the Word of God… NO Commentary. I am not saying that it is bad, I’m just sayin’… IT’S ALL GOD or it’s nothing to me!

I would like to state up front that… “I got nowhere to go for throwing stones” to the point of even saying, SADLY, I have said my share of “bad words”. It was [is] not my desire to ever mislead or deceive anyone, but I will not be perfect until the day of Christ Jesus. And until then… I am so sorry for your loss. I do ‘get it’ that Xxxx certainly has a much greater audience, but we all have an accountability to speak the Gospel Truth.

“If I am going to put myself out there for all to see, hear and read… my witness better be SHATTERPROOF!”

WHY now more than ever…
“… He began to say to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.” [Luke 12]

I know I am a minuscule fragment in the body of Christ, but even knowing this, I know others [believers and unbelievers] are watching, listening & reading me. I have a responsibility to the body and the body to me. We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord.

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.” [Galatians 5:25-26]

What I put out better reflect what God gives to me, making me shatterproof, or else. And I can’t live with ‘or else’!

I want to live like “what you see is what you get”, and what ‘you get’ … is HIM!

~~~
I do read and know that there will be a great falling away in the body of Christ in the last days, but  “Oh my God… why does it have to be led and supported by Your Children [our family] sounding the “C_H_A_R_G_E”?”  Shouldn’t the children, from the family of God, be operating and witnessing in Truth & Love, in Unison [Unity]… “Jesus”?!!!  Everyone acts like their version of the truth is “the truth”.  Imagine my confusion, so I ask “How many ‘Truths’ can there be, but One?!!!”  “Do we swear to give the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth… so help us God?!!!”  Why then do I see & hear all these family squabbles about who’s right & who’s wrong?  There is so much evil, envy, theft, & murder all around us in this world, our family & home should be that place of safety, security, unity, & LOVE.
I have seen public leaders in Christian Ministry crucified by… what are suppose to be “family”.
Do we not all fall short of the glory of God?!!!
[See Romans 3:23]
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; 16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.
[Hebrews 12]
[Food for thought… “If we are truly busy coming to the Lord in heart-felt repentance for our own short-sightedness, short-comings & goings… wouldn’t we be too busy to see & inspect all the shorts (planks) in others?”]
;(  Just sayin’
What makes matters worse for me… I hear the sound of trumpets when others [if it looks like a Pharisee & sounds like a Pharisee… it ‘could be’ a Pharisee] seek to ‘justify themselves’ by quoting God’s Word.  And from where I am kneeling, this is like taking the Lord’s name in vain.
[More Food for Thought:  When you call out His name and use His Words, you might want to make it good … He’s listening.]
I hear some Christians jest among themselves and say that we, like they, should be quick to judge, catch, and shine a big ole spotlight on the Christian leaders [the higher up the mountain the better] and call out with~ “false teachers and false prophets” [like it is “our Christian duty”] at the moment that another has allegedly tripped.
;(  Ouch, is this yet another black eye on ‘the Christian church’?
And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; 18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. [Ephesians 2:17-22]
I do understand where you may be going with this…
2 Peter 2… “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.”
But, consider this…
4 “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.” … 2 Peter 2
“Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.” [2 Chronicles 20:15]
~~~

Back to the reason we are having this conversation…

I don’t know about all of you, but I don’t have to go looking very far for “false” anything.  There are days I feel like I’m surrounded, and yes… this includes Sundays and places of worship 😦 .  But this begs a question to me… “Who am I [or who are you] that we can attest to what another believer’s house is and how far the Lord has brought them?”  And “YES, yes it does” irk me when I read from other “Christians” that I am to seek out and defraud [to me this is a camouflage for ‘steal, kill, & destroy’] another brother, or sister-in-Christ, so much so I respond with another question…

“Who are you working for… really?”

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
[John 10:10]

I cannot say that I have been in a Bible Study using Xxxx Xxxxx’s curriculum [the named well-known teacher to be avoided as false in another’s blog] or have seen her speak personally, but I have heard and seen by the multitudes, testimonies of people [mostly women] who have come to a saving, living, and loving knowledge of Christ by the words of her testimony and teaching of Jesus.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” [Ephesians 2:8-9]

And another thing while “I’m telling”, if we proclaim & cause division in the body of Christ and teach others to do the same…

“What, or rather who, does that make us…

Really?”

???????????

17 But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you,

“In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.

20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, 25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

[Jude 1]

I totally get it that we are called and accountable to live, breathe, and speak the Gospel Truth.  I too read & can discern the Word of God [having prayed for His Wisdom & Truth] and have an amazing love affair with Jesus [and not in that order… LOVE FIRST!].  I also know that nobody, yes I said nobody, has any more clout with God then another… no matter where or how high they are standing or have positioned themselves.

“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

[Matthew 9:35-38]

Please hear me out when I say “Could we ALL PLEASE JUST GET ALONG & FOCUS ON JESUS… leaving all the consequences to Him?”

Oh my God please… stir in us one cause, YOURS LORD, to fight for.  And remind us again Lord that ~

… “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls. [Luke 11:17]    He who is not with Me [Jesus] is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.”  [Luke 11:23]

… But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name, and be able soon afterward to speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is for us. For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward.” [Mark 9:39-41]

… “one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.  For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” [1 Corinthians 12:11-12]

… Unity in the Spirit: “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.”   7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore it says,
“When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, And He gave gifts to men.”  [Ephesians 4]

… “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;” [Ephesians 5:19]

…  “Only conduct yourselves in a manner  worthy of the  gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”  [Philippians 1:27]

… “make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”  [Philippians 2:2]  …  AMEN!

With all that being said, when one in the body falls and another is running alongside of him [or her], let them hold out a firm loving hand to help up and finish the race…

All “WELL DONE”!

The Race of Faith

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
[Hebrews 12]

By the way… I am writing this post on my own blog, using no names, so that no one can say I am arguing with another, causing a division, or infringing on one’s right to speak.  I make no formal invitation to read my blog, so if you don’t like it… feel free to depart from it.  And before it happens [regarding your comments]… don’t make me say “It’s my blog & I’ll delete what I want to.”

Luke 10…

“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.”

Luke 11
Pharisees’ Blasphemy

14 And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute; when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed. 15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.” 16 Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven. 17 But He knew their thoughts and said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls. 18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? So they will be your judges. 20 But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed. 22 But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, he takes away from him all his armor on which he had relied and distributes his plunder. 23 He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.

24 “When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

27 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” 28 But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

The Sign of Jonah

29 As the crowds were increasing, He began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. 30 For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise up with the men of this generation at the judgment and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

33 “No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 34 The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. 36 If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.”

Woes upon the Pharisees

37 Now when He had spoken, a Pharisee *asked Him to have lunch with him; and He went in, and reclined at the table. 38 When the Pharisee saw it, he was surprised that He had not first ceremonially washed before the meal. 39 But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness. 40 You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you.

42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the market places. 44 Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.”

45 One of the lawyers *said to Him in reply, “Teacher, when You say this, You insult us too.” 46 But He said, “Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers. 47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them. 48 So you are witnesses and approve the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs. 49 For this reason also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute, 50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the house of God; yes, I tell you, it shall be charged against this generation.’ 52 Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.”

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?

27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”

28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

    Heartfelt post Sister Julie! It would be heaven on earth if we could all get along, if His will was done on earth as it is in heaven. Should we hold those who profess to teach the word of Christ, to a higher standard than others? We must I think! We are the face of God on earth and if we are showing a false face, yes God will throw out the bad, but will others lose because of it? And will the blood be on our hands because we were negligent? Love doesn’t mean ignoring the faults of others, nor does it mean we should spend our time looking for those faults, but if we see a sister or brother falling off the cliff and do not reach out and attempt to catch them, do we truly love them?
    And yet the next step is always forgiveness isn’t it? Can we show the same love that our Father shows us and the same love that He showed Jesus? Not a static, stand off, observing love, but a full on taking care of our sisters and brothers love.
    I am not sure if you really wanted a answer or if you were just venting your frustrations and wishing for the intervention and return of Jesus. I read and reread you post and hope that I got it right. It would be wonderful if we could just live and let live, but that is not really what God wants us to do is it? If are just so so in our faith and belief in the Word of God, will he know us when we knock on that door?
    I love you my Sister and God bless you for your faithfulness! There are so many false messages out there and truly God will send those who want to know the truth to those who teach the truth.
    Don’t let the evil distract you from God’s love, it is always there and it is Jesus who will do the judging. There is limited value in arguing with those who either do not believe or pervert the word of God. Sometimes you do have to just walk away!

        Sister Julie, perhaps I am reading your post wrong! I am sorry if I have insulted you, I wasn’t sure if you really did want an answer. I read your post to mean that you felt someone was wrong in what they were saying, but you were not sure if you should bring it to there attention or make it public, and you wished that we could all get along and did not have to make decisions like this! Am I reading this wrong? God bless you, Loopy!

          Loopy I meant no disrespect when I asked if it was your comment or not. I sincerely love & respect your thoughts & wisdom. We have had so rare of an occasion when our comments were lengthy to each other, that I thought you were another responder to my post. Anne from Freedomborn’s style of commenting is usually longer than yours and she had mentioned to me recently that someone was been hijacking her blog & putting other blogger’s names on it. I was just trying to bring that to the light if that was what happened.

          I especially loved your conclusion…
